Thomaz has a distinguished practice in civil litigation and restructuring and insolvency, with a strong focus on dispute resolution, debt restructuring, negotiation, and asset recovery. His experience includes active involvement in judicial and out-of-court reorganizations, as well as bankruptcy proceedings, having made significant contributions to some of the most prominent insolvency cases in Brazil.

With particular expertise in the agribusiness sector and regulated industries such as energy and oil and gas, Thomaz has been recognized by the prestigious international publication Chambers & Partners as a leading lawyer in his field. He has also been involved in award-winning cases, including “Deal of the Year” by Latin Lawyer.

Prior to becoming a partner at PGLaw, Thomaz worked at leading law firms, including Machado Meyer and Barbosa Mussnich e Aragão, building a solid reputation handling highly complex and significant matters.

He holds a degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas (CEAG – FGV/SP) and is widely recognized for his contributions to insolvency and corporate law. His credentials include:

• Vice-Chair of the Insolvency Law Committee at the Instituto dos Advogados de São Paulo (IASP);
• Coordinator of the Insolvency Law Committee at the Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Empresarial (IBRADEMP);
• Member of the Legislation Committee of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA);
• Member of the GPAI – Grupo Permanente de Apoio à Insolvência, having directly contributed to the drafting of Law No. 14,112/20, which amended Law No. 11,101/05.
